Rancho Las Lomas

OMG!  We haven't posted for such a long time. It's time to get back to it. This is a must see right in our own OC backyard.

.....wisked away to the Spanish Mediterranean today. Spent the morning with good friend Julie Horn on a private tour at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas Wildlife Foundation in Silverado Canyon, OC. It's a hidden must see with amazingly designed Spanish and old world Mexico haciendas, gardens and zoo complete with White and Bengal tigers and some other exotics. Go tour if you get a chance. Aliso and Woods Canyons Wilderness Park, Laguna Niguel, Ca.

Another beautiful day in the OC.

Julie and Olivia took a drive to Aliso and Woods Canyons Wilderness Park. We hiked part of the Aliso Creek Trail and stopped for a sip of water break on Woods Trail.  We came upon a majestic blue heron and a rather large, healthy looking coyote.
We enjoyed our packed lunch on our return. It's interesting how much better a simple PB&J sandwich tastes in the wilderness.  Click on the pictures twice to enlarge.

OC's Great Park - Orange County, Ca.

It was another beautiful day in the OC. Julie and Olivia visited the Great Park. We ascended in the Big Orange Hot Air Balloon to get some beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, including Saddle Back, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Catalina, the Hollywood Hills and Down Town L.A. We also visited the plant section of the park learning a bit more about composting, vertical pot growing and visited the cute hen house. It was a good day.
